Ponte das Estrelas means Star Bridge. This is the name of the small children's and youth circus on the outskirts of São Paulo in Brazil that shared this song with us. The children and young people who take part in Circo Ponte das Estrelas come from the outskirts of São Paulo. Violence, crime, murder squads, drug and human trafficking are their immediate environment. In the circus they meet every day and practise circus modalities and theatre... but also simply living together. Because that takes courage and practice after the difficult experiences that each child brings with them.
The song that Circo Ponte das Estrelas shared with us is sung at the end of each performance and it describes in a simple way the ideal of circus work with the children and young people.
The collection of songs from all over the world was created as part of the single-day campaign Waldorf-One-World-Day, WOW-Day for short. On this day, children and young people are directly and actively committed to a better world. Besides, they organize a multiplicity of special donation actions, that connect humans on all continents with one another.
