Waldorf kindergarten in the Caucasus

Even while the short war between Azerbaijan and Armenia was underway, staff of the Yellow Lark kindergarten in Yerevan took in children of mothers who had managed to flee the areas under attack. They provided comfort to the mothers and talked to women who were stranded in Yerevan without belongings and uncertain about the fate of their husbands.

Of course, the kindergarten also suffered from the consequences of decisions to bring in social restrictions in an attempt to contain the pandemic. A lot of new equipment had to be purchased, the groups of children had to be reduced in size and hygiene standards had to be changed. Despite all these events, the staff were able to continue to train young women and prepare them for work in a Waldorf kindergarten. And they look forward to all the support they can get.
