Because the school is located in a relatively safe area, it has been possible to maintain in-person classes—something of immense value to the children and their families.
However, the building’s old roof, which had been leaking in many places despite repeated repairs, urgently needed replacement. Friends of Waldorf Education were able to contribute €30,000 to support this renovation.
The construction work was extremely challenging due to heavy and persistent rainfall. Once the old roof had been removed, the temporary covering could not withstand the weather, and school staff had to intervene multiple times to prevent flooding on the second and third floors. On two occasions, they even came at night to protect the building. Thanks to their dedication and the support received, the new roof will now be completed in time for the beginning of the school year.
