Volcanic eruption on La Palma: Emergency pedagogical mission

For a month, the Cumbre Vieja volcano on La Palma has been spewing lava and soot. Air traffic to the island is now possible again. According to the European Union's Copernicus Emergency Monitoring Service, 1817 buildings have fallen victim to the boiling lava since the volcano began erupting. More than 7.3 square kilometers of land have already been affected as the Cumbre Vieja volcano spews more and more lava onto the island. Many people have lost everything, and it is particularly stressful that there is currently no end in sight. On October 9, an Emergency Pedagogy Team traveled to La Palma to provide emergency and trauma pedagogical support to the people on the ground. read more
