In early March there were cases of Corona on the ships at the port, and people there had to be quarantined. Also in hotels tourists got sick and left. This resulted in the first disturbance of the school system, as some children did not attend school anymore. Those that did attend were all the more enthusiastic. These days were nice and quiet, as well as joyful, with a special almost familial learning atmosphere.

Then school holidays were declared for the whole country. So there was a lot of time for further education, such as form drawing, playing the recorder, Egyptian mythology, fairy tale interpretation - how nice that just that week our fairy tale was "The Drummer" - an example of fearless deeds: emptying out a lake with a thimble in a single day! Only the one who begins without fear for as long as he is able will receive help!

But then a curfew was imposed. Now the teachers had to stay at home - they devoted themselves to writing their reports. (I had to leave on the last plane.)

But after two days they already called each other: "I can't stand it anymore - I want to go to school!"

The teachers prepared notebooks with work assignments for the children, packed them into bags with knitting material, an abacus, crayons, and a letter. These were delivered to the villages – in once case to the village kiosk, in another time to a child who then distributes them all ... and this sign of life from the so dearly missed teacher was received with great cheers! In no time at all, the children are rushing to do their schoolwork! Waldorf home schooling! Now the parents experienced what and how the children learn! And the reputation of the school increased in the whole neighborhood - because no other school does it like this.

Teachers will continue like this until 7 May. Only then will the regular school holidays begin, as planned. Even though the government cancelled the whole 2nd semester and all exams last week, our children will then receive their reports.

The kindergarten teachers miss their children so much that they cannot help but visit each one of them at home, beginning tomorrow, bringing flowers from the kindergarten, along with building blocks, wax blocks, and paper.

"We love our work and our children too much!"

In Sha Allah ("God willing") we will be able to do everything as before after Ramadan, in late May - namely summer school with swimming lessons, and admission of the new children!
