The Waldorf institution in Chudjand was founded in 2002 by Rano Ahunova and includes a kindergarten, after-school care and a school. The work of the Waldorf initiative is highly regarded, so that parents are committed to its continued existence, especially at the political level. However, they were not able to prevent the state authorities from claiming the school building, which had previously been renovated step by step with great effort on the part of parents and teachers. Today the school is located outside Chudjand. The Tajik school system is still marked by great arbitrariness. All teachers have to make ends meet with a second or third job.

In a letter, Rano Ahunova tells us how the WOW-Day donations are doing work on site: "On behalf of our school administration and our students, who finally have beautiful school desks, I would like to thank you very much. Your commitment on WOW-Day is a great help for our school. We also used the money to partially renovate our school roof and the windows in a classroom. Many, many thanks!”

The time frame for this year’s WOW Day is from 29 September to 29 November 2020. We invite all people in curative educational and social therapeutic institutions, as well as all students at Waldorf Schools to be a part of this worldwide campaign and to organize their own WOW Day this year. 100 percent of the proceeds will be forwarded to Waldorf and social projects.
