Worldwide solidarity with Waldorf educational institutions – this is the idea behind Waldorf-One-World-Day, WOW-Day for short. On the designated date, people take action by collecting donations in many different ways and give the money to Waldorf institutions in need. In 2018, the Váci Waldorf Általános Iskola és AMI, Hungary participated in WOW-Day for the eleventh time. Ildikó Mezei, co-worker and WOW-Day coordinator at the School, tells us how the day went:

“Classes from five to eight were preparing with different performances for that special day. To attract more people we organized a march through the city. We started at the front of Vac train station than walked down on the main street with several stops. Class five was making music with different instruments, class six were showing juggling, class seven was singing while class eight were playing on Cajon’s. Students were collecting donations after each performances and offered cakes, cookies and post cards to people who were donating money. We even met some people from the USA who were familiar with our school system and were very happy to meet and talk to our students. We are happy to support with the collected money a Waldorf School in Nepal.”
