The idea

Sometimes, a great WOW-Day project comes along when no one is expecting it.

We regularly receive requests from Waldorf and social initiatives around the world. Often, they involve smaller projects or very specific needs that immediately make us think: This would be a wonderful WOW-Day project.

But not every request fits into the annual WOW-Day cycle. A lot of time can pass between receiving a project request, presenting it on the website, schools registering and the day of action itself. For urgent or smaller requests, this process can simply take too long.

At the end of a WOW-Day year, there is another challenge: some projects have not quite reached their funding targets. WOW-Day is over, but the need on the ground remains.

This is where the International Waldorf Fund aims to give us greater flexibility.

When you choose to entrust the money you raise through your WOW-Day to the Waldorf Fund, we can use it to respond to urgent requests or help close funding gaps in projects at the end of the year. This allows us to respond more quickly and ensure that your support reaches the places where it is truly needed.

What’s new is this: you’ll find out exactly what happened to the money you raised. We’ll tell you which project your WOW-Day funds supported, how the money was used and what it helped make possible.

This keeps your support flexible, while its impact remains personal and visible.

Sometimes, a little goes a long way

Among the projects around the world, there are always specific needs where just a few thousand euros can make a decisive difference.

€3,000Egypt

A school kitchen for Luxor

With €3,000, Hebet el Nil School was able to equip its school kitchen and provide meals for the children.

€2,000Tajikistan

Equipment for special education

With €2,000, furniture and basic equipment could be funded to establish a special education programme.

€3,000South Africa

Making teacher training possible

Around €3,000 can fund the training of a Waldorf kindergarten teacher – benefiting many children for years to come.

It is for situations like these that we would like to keep a share of WOW-Day funds available for flexible support. When an urgent request comes in, or a WOW-Day project still needs a modest amount to reach its funding target, the International Waldorf Fund can provide support exactly where it is needed.
