Waldorf schools and initiatives in Ukraine continue to provide children and young people with education, community and stability under extraordinarily difficult circumstances.
Schools in different regions of the country are working to maintain lessons, support families and preserve their school communities. The Friends of Waldorf Education have been supporting Waldorf and special educational initiatives in Ukraine for several years. Current support includes, for example, practical needs related to school buildings and the continuation of educational work.
Through your WOW-Day, you can help these school, kindergarten and social communities continue their work.

It is also about showing children, young people, parents and teachers in Ukraine that others are thinking of them, standing with them and supporting their courage for the future.
Waldorf schools and initiatives across Ukraine
Waldorf schools, kindergartens and special education initiatives across Ukraine continue their educational work under extremely challenging circumstances.
The Friends of Waldorf Education have been connected with Waldorf initiatives in Ukraine for many years and have provided extensive support since the beginning of the war. Our current Ukraine report offers insights into the schools, their daily realities and the support made possible through donations.
In 2026, the Re-Generation Foundation in North America began a new initiative to support Waldorf schools and communities in Ukraine. It connects North American schools with Ukrainian Waldorf initiatives, promotes partner and sister-school relationships and provides further information about schools currently active in Ukraine.
Special Focus for North American Waldorf Schools
For the 2026/27 school year, North American Waldorf schools can dedicate their WOW-Day activities specifically to Waldorf schools and initiatives in Ukraine.
Instead of supporting one individual school, the proceeds can contribute to the wider network of Waldorf initiatives in Ukraine and be used according to current needs.

In cooperation with AWSNA
The Association of Waldorf Schools of North America (AWSNA) supports the WOW-Day initiative in North America. WOW-Day proceeds from participating North American schools are collected by AWSNA and directed to the Ukraine focus.
Together, we are making it easier for Waldorf schools across North America to take part and stand alongside Waldorf communities in Ukraine.
