Latha Madhusudhan is the founder of the Prakriti Waldorf Kindergarten in Bengaluru, as well as a co-founder and core member of the Sadhana Waldorf Kindergarten Association in India. For many years, she has been passionately committed to an educational approach that takes the lived reality of Indian children seriously whilst keeping the fundamental principles of Waldorf education alive. Her work combines cultural roots, pedagogical clarity and deep human commitment. Here, she tells us about her work, her experiences and the emergence of the Waldorf movement in India:

Wafoundani Virginio Silue is the head of the nursery school L’École des Enfants in Bouaké (Ivory Coast). Since 2018, he and his team have been committed to an educational approach that provides children with a safe, warm and vibrant environment in which to develop. His experiences range from the early years of setting up the nursery, through the challenging period of the pandemic, to the current process of carefully redesigning and reopening the facility. Below, he talks about his work and the history of the nursery

María Paz Dörr Bulnes is a doctor specialising in child development support and anthroposophical medicine. For several years, she has been supporting the team at the La Siembra kindergarten in the O’Higgins region of Chile. Through her medical and educational work, she has gained a deep insight into the importance of nature for child development. María Paz Dörr tells us about her work and her experiences at this special kindergarten.

The Hermanus Waldorf School is attended by numerous children from the surrounding townships of Zwelihle and Mount Pleasant. When the school was founded in 1994, it had a clear vision of inclusion and equal opportunities – regardless of ethnicity, gender, religion, or economic background. At the start of the 2026 school year, the upper school was expanded to include a vocational branch, namely the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) College. In November 2025, Johanna Ruber from the Friends of Waldorf Education undertook a project trip to the Hermanus Waldorf School in South Africa and has the following to report:

The Rudolf Steiner School in Mbagathi has completed its much-needed staff accommodation project. Following an unexpected setback, construction was delayed by almost a year. Now, some staff members will be able to move into the new accommodation on campus.

Janette Gülker-Neuhaus is a German teacher and a special needs teacher who has been committed to Waldorf education and inclusive education for many years. She was a member of the school management team at the Freie Waldorfschule Everswinkel and has been volunteering for many years at the Michael School in Tbilisi, Georgia – a school that not only provides education for children with severe learning disabilities but also offers them a sense of community and warmth. As a mentor and therapeutic educator, she works with pupils there, supports the school management team in reorganising the school and training younger managers, and she encourages teachers and parents in their daily work. In autumn and winter of 2025, she was there again with her husband, the therapeutic eurythmist, Markus Neuhaus, and reports on their joint work for us.

Pupils Lelia, Paulina and Kubilay from the Waldorf School in Ismaning near Munich spent three weeks at the Mbagathi Rudolf Steiner School in Nairobi to take part in various practical and educational activities.

Funded by the Friends of Waldorf Education, a three-year part-time professional development course for teachers at Waldorf schools has been held in Turkey for the second time. Alfred Rahmen and Jürgen Lohmann were responsible for the course design and delivery. Lohmann is a Waldorf class teacher and a lecturer in teaching methodology, pedagogy, and practical training at the Hamburg Seminar for Waldorf Education. He takes stock of these intensive years of training.

When parents and teachers came together in 2016 with the aim of founding the first Waldorf primary school in Greece, they wanted to create a place where children could grow up healthily and develop their love for the world. At the time, no one could have imagined how quickly the school community would grow. In September of this year, the school moved into its newly-opened building. The construction of the new school premises was made possible in part by a large loan from the Friends of Waldorf Education. Sandra Mavroidi from the Trianemi Waldorf School tells us about the construction project:

With Nelson Mandela's inauguration in 1994, South Africa opened up its education system to the entire population. The failed apartheid regime could no longer exclude large sections of its population from acquiring a decent education. Helen Stotko was passionate about giving marginalised groups access to Waldorf education. She was not a teacher, but for twenty years she shaped Waldorf teacher training at the Centre for Creative Education in Cape Town, South Africa.
