The Friends of Waldorf Education held a very constructive members meeting on 28 June, in which they agreed on a change in the statutes and on the establishment of a supervisory board. The change of the statutes, which was accepted at the members meeting, implies that in the future a supervisory board will complement the association. The supervisory board consists of at least four and at most eight members. Ex officio members are one of the heads of the pedagogical section at the School of Spiritual Science at the Goetheanum, as well as two board members of the Foundation Friends of Waldorf Education. They are joined by up to five people to be elected by the members meeting. The supervisory board members are appointed for a period of seven years. The supervisory board will have no executive tasks, but is rather meant to appoint the board of directors, supervise the work, and mainly sustain the spiritual foundation. The work of the supervisory board is unpaid. This changed structure will be implemented at the members meeting in 2020, as elections for the various functions within the Friends Association are scheduled for that year.
