Waldorf flourishes in Spain

Over thirty years after the military dictatorship under Franco, it seems that independent education strongly blossoms in Spain. So far already seven primary Waldorf schools “Primarias” and one middle-school “Secundaria” have been granted official licenses. The only previously existing Waldorf high school at the Escuela Micael in Laz Rozas, Madrid, has also received its license. Without licensing, the children attending a Waldorf school in Spain would practically not have received any education from a government point of view. However, this development gives us hope that the growth of many new initiatives will soon bring new opportunities.
