The first Chinese Waldorf school in Chengdu, has been granted official approval by the authorities in January 2012. Before this decision, the only school was operating under the goodwill of the local education authority and the good contacts with the school authority. The school could have been closed at any time. All the greater was the relief when the school license was issued in January by the National Education Ministry. All other Waldorf schools in China continue to teach without an official permit.
