Possibilities for class projects

The following survey includes possibilities for class projects and projects for individual students that are known to us. Usually there are accommodation possibilities. However concrete details can be discussed with the local organisation.

The following overview shows possibilites for upper class projects
we in the moment know about. We tried to give information about possiblities of lodging and eating, but all these things then have to be updated with the initiative.

Many settings do not have the possibility to provide food for their guests. Several projects cannot pay for the building materials. Problems will always arise. Nevertheless once all these issues have been dealt with, there should be nothing to prevent a successful projec

More possibilities are offered by the IDEM-Network created for and by young people and which originally began as a project of the Youth Section at the Goetheanum.

South Africa: Hermanus – Waldorf school

Timeframe: September 2006.
Work: Painting and Lasuring the class rooms.
Accomodation: Nearby youth hostel

Estonia

Timeframe: 2008/2009.
Work: Bisecting class rooms (new walls), painting, glazing/lazuring.
Accomodation: School or families.
Contact: Esther Maria Grünberg (engl., dt.).

Ukraine: Odessa – Waldorf school

Timeframe: July until August 2007.
Work: Lasuring the walls, building cup boards etc.
Material: it would be helpful if some material and tools were donated.
Accomodation: In the school (sleeping bags needed), three single rooms for adults. Showers and washing machine. Food provided at no cost.

Romania: Iasi – Waldorf school

Timeframe: April 2007 or perhaps later.
Work: Plastering, painting, setting up new class rooms in new school building and working in the grounds.
Material: Necessary would be plaster, painting brushes, rollers, an electric mowing-machine...
Accomodation: Hostel (unfortunately there will be some costs).

Romania: Simeria - Waldorf school

Zeitraum: April 2007 - ??
Work: Extending a workshop building and other work.
Material: Some materials would have to be b(r)ought.
Accomodation: In class rooms or rooms of the curative home (6km away). Meals in the school caneteen.

Romania: Bucharest – Social therapy "Prietenia"

Timeframe: März-Juni or August-October, perhaps other times.
Work: Renovation, construction, gardening, farming; artistic work: building a baking oven, pavilion, wall mosaic, bell for the bell tower.
Material: Donations have to be found for the material.
Accomodation: Camping or class rooms.

Romania: Sibiu (Hermannstadt) – Waldorf kindergarten

Timeframe: 2007 - ??, ideally holiday time end of June until mid September.
Work: Renovation and construction of a kitchen/caneteen, gardening, renovation of a pavilion
Material: Perhaps donations have to be found for the material.
Accomodation: Room available, 9 Euro per day and person for meals (including two trips and visit to Hermannstadt).
